Welcome on board of the luxurious rivercruiser Mi Gudu

Mi Gudu Tours offers you the opportunity to explore the magical rainforest of the Surinam hinterland on a very relaxed way. With the luxurious river cruise ship Mi Gudu  (in native Suriname tongue Mi Gudu means ‘my sweetheart’ as well as ‘my treasure’) we sail the Surinam waters as to see area’s that are not accessible by land.
She is docked at our resort Appartementen Bloemendaal (CLICK HERE) on the Saramaccariver near the sweet rural town of Groningen.

May we present ourselves? Mi Gudu has a size of 28 meters by 6.50 and is designed especially for this part of the world. Beneath the deck the ship contains six double cabins, ( most of them  with two single beds) each cabin has its own toilet and bathroom (warm and cold water) and air-conditioning. In the saloon, which is full of atmosphere,  you’ll find a completely equipped kitchen,  where a fusion of the European and the Surinamese cuisine will be prepared on a daily basis. At the rear end of the ship we installed a  washing machine and an air dryer, so the crew can do your laundry and refresh your sheets once every two days. And opposite we built you a wooden swimming deck with a small flight of stairs so you can take a swim in the lukewarm tropical water of the river, when the ship is anchored.
Our crew is cordial, skilled and hospitable and the excursions through the virginal jungle of the Amazone region is an experience so fairytale-like that it will sometimes take your breath away..

Private charters

If you want to sail Mi Gudu, you have to charter her. It’s not possible to book individually. (For more information click here)

We sail straight through primary rainforest over narrow rivers and meandering creeks; the nature is overwhelming. Depending on the duration of your stay we can decide on the destination. If you charter her for only two days we can make it to pilgrimage place of Petrus Donders, called Batavia on the banks of the Coppename river. But if you have more time to spent we can sail into more narrow rivers like Tibiti, Coesewijne or the Wayamboriver:
On our trips we visit remote Indian villages like  Kalabaskreek, Corneliskondre and Donderkamp for a walk in the woods (or in the village) or for a cultural Amorindian evening.
Of course there are plenty of opportunities to swim in the river, take a sunbath, go fishing or make an exploration trip in our dingy. Or just grab a good book out of our library and enjoy the peace and quiet. Anyway, wherever we go you will live in the utmost luxury.
So: see you on board of Mi Gudu: an experience you will never forget!
